L-39 Fuel Cells for Sale
Pride has contracted with a major US-based fuel cell manufacturer to produce the five fuel cells used in the L-39 series (C, ZO and ZA) aircraft. We did so because the original tanks are becoming increasingly expensive and hard to find. They’re also manufactured from heavy, old technology “natural” Butyl rubber which has short in-service life limits and is prone to drying out, and then leaking or failing completely. Our newly manufactured cells use a modern, Nitryl-based fabric that’s much lighter, much more flexible (easier to install), and gives them a 20-year service life. The material used in our fuel cells is the same as is found in current active-duty T-38, F-5, C-130 and many US civil fixed/rotary-wing aircraft. In fact, after seeing a sample from a T-38A fuel cell manufactured in 1968 that remained in continuous service for almost 40 years with no leakage, the Odessa-based “AVIRS” L-39 overhaul facility contracted with us for 50 sets! These fuel cells are available in two styles, OEM and USA. Both styles are in stock now. (See sidebar at right for more details.) Price: $13,980 FOB Rockford, Illinois. Price is for complete “ship-sets” of five, including all new-manufacture assembly gaskets. We require pre-paid shipment of your old fuel cell “cores” to us. |
